I was wondering that when I attend college will I have to major in journalism to become a journalist. Say I want to write for a newspaper, magazine, or website, do I necessarily have to have a journalism degree? Could I just major in American Studies or American history and minor in journalism? Or do I need to major in journalism?
I’m in college right now focusing on a major in journalism. But career test I’ve taken say that I fit with a career like social work or helping people. Can I make a difference and help people with a journalism degree? I’m very empathic to people and feel for those less fortunate but don’t think I would work well as a social worker. Should I find another major, a way to find using my journalism degree or find another outlet to help but not through from my career?
What kind of jobs can you get with a Journalism Degree with a Japanese Minor?
I’m not really sure. That’s what I’m planning to do next year for college. One website gave me these categories, but I’m not really sure that my Japanese minor would fit into any one of these besides news reporter.
